The Forger
You place an order — "11 AP, 6 MP, 40% resistance everywhere, and as much Strength as possible" — and The Forger tries millions of gear combinations in your browser until it finds the one that fits it best, with characteristic points, forgemagic and set bonuses already worked out. This guide covers every part of it, from your first forge to tricks for hard orders.
Your first forge in 5 steps
The bare minimum to get a useful build in under a minute.
- 1
Pick a class and level
In the planner. The Forger never suggests items above your character's level.
- 2
Open The Forger
With its button in the planner's top bar (on a phone, from the menu) or with the button at the top of this guide.
- 3
Ask for your stats
Tap a stat to turn it on and set its minimum (e.g. AP ≥ 11, MP ≥ 6). Also turn on the ones you want as high as possible, even without a minimum.
- 4
Light the forge
Standard intensity is enough for almost everything. The Forger tempers itself once the piece stops improving.
- 5
Load the build
"Load this build" sends it to the planner with items, runes and points. Ctrl+Z undoes it like any other change.
The order: minimum, purity and cap
Every active stat has three values. With them you say what is mandatory, how much each point is worth and how far it is worth going.
Minimum (≥)
What the piece must have, no matter what. The Forger meets every minimum first; a build that misses one always ranks below one that meets them all.
Purity ⚖
What each point of that stat is worth. Points missing from the minimum cost their purity and surplus points earn it. The 5 diamonds are shortcuts (from ×¼ to ×4 of the stat's usual value); you can also type the exact number.
Cap (≤) and lock
How far the stat counts. With the lock open, anything above the cap just stops counting; with it closed, any piece above the cap is discarded. Empty (∞) = no cap.
Power and points
Power counts toward Strength, Intelligence, Chance and Agility. Characteristic points are not set by hand: The Forger spends them on its own for every combination it tries, item conditions first.
✦ Example: AP ≥ 11 with a cap of 12 and the lock closed (never 13 wasted AP), MP ≥ 6, Strength with no minimum and high purity: The Forger secures the AP and MP, then packs in as much Strength as it can.
Forge intensity
How long it runs and how many of your CPU cores it uses. Everything runs in your browser: nothing is sent to a server.
Quick · 15–45 s
To try ideas and tune the order.
Standard · 45 s–3 min
The recommended one. Uses half your CPU and tempers itself once it settles.
Master · 2–8 min
Your whole CPU, for orders with many minimums at once.
Eternal · ∞
Never goes out on its own: it searches until you temper it.
Pinned 📌 and banned ⛔ items
Want a build around one specific weapon, or never to be offered a certain item? That is what the Items section of the order is for. Pin and ban as many as you like.
📌 Pinned: in every build
Before starting, The Forger puts each pinned item in its slot and only searches the others around it, so pinning never slows it down: it narrows the search. If the item belongs to a set, completing that set is tried first. And unlike a kept slot, a pinned item still gets runes.
Three ways to pin
Search it by name (or by its set's name) in the Items section and tap Pin — or press Enter; tap your current gear in the "From the planner" row; or use the 📌 that shows when hovering an equipped planner slot or an item of a result.
Where each one goes
Each pinned item shows its slot. Rings and Dofus share slots (two rings, six Dofus/trophies) and a Prysmaradite always takes the first one. If something does not fit — a third ring, a second Prysmaradite, a slot you keep — it turns red and the forge won't light until you fix it. If the item is above your character's level, you get a warning.
⛔ Banned: never shows up
For items you don't own, don't want to farm or just don't like. Ban from the search or with the ⛔ on an item of a result, then forge again. An item can't be pinned and banned at the same time.
They are kept
Pinned and banned items stay saved in this browser for your next forges. "Clear" empties each list.
✦ Example: You want an Earth build with one specific wand: search it, pin it, set your minimums and light the forge. Every result wears it; ban the ring you don't own too and none of them uses it.
Slots to optimize
Another way to keep something still, different from pinning.
Unticking a slot = keeping it as is
The slot stays exactly as it is in the planner: the same item (or empty) and the same runes you gave it. Handy for an item you already forgemaged and won't touch.
Pin or keep?
Pin when you want the item and let The Forger decide its runes (and, for a ring or Dofus, which slot). Keep when you want that slot frozen, runes included. Slots a pinned item will take are marked with 📌.
Forgemagic, scrolls and level
The Forger also picks one rune per item, as you would in the game.
Transcendence runes
One official rune (Tra/Pa/Ra) per forgeable item, sized by the line the item already has. Turn it off for gear without forgemagic.
AP, MP and Range exos
Only added where they complete a missing minimum, never "just in case". Choose which ones are allowed, the maximum per build and whether they go on rings only.
Assume fully scrolled
Calculates as if every characteristic already had its scroll (+100). Turn it off to use the scrolls ticked on your sheet.
Max level
Limits the items' level, for example for a transition build. It never goes above your character's level.
While it forges
The forge screen shows the best piece found so far, live, and which minimums it already meets.
The heat
Drops as the piece stops improving. Once it cools down completely (with every minimum met) it tempers itself.
Stoke the fire
If it looks stuck, the bellows melt fresh metal to search somewhere else, without losing the best piece.
Temper now
Finish now: it does one last item-by-item polish and shows the results.
Put out the forge
Cancels and goes back to the order with no results.
Reading the results
Once tempered you get the best piece and up to four truly different alternatives.
Masterpiece and Quality
"Masterpiece" = meets every minimum. Quality is negative while something is missing (how much purity is lost) and positive once everything is met (how much purity is left over): use it to compare pieces of the same order.
Order surplus
What the piece has beyond each minimum. That is your margin: if there is plenty of something, raise that minimum or ask for another stat.
Reforge, From scratch and Adjust order
Reforge relights the forge starting from these pieces (the result never gets worse). From scratch searches again from nothing. Adjust order goes back to the settings.
Pin or ban from a result
Hover an item: 📌 pins it and ⛔ bans it for the next forge. That is how you iterate: like the weapon, pin it; don't own that ring, ban it; then reforge.
Load this build
Sends it to the planner: items, runes, exos, points and scrolls. Kept slots don't change.
FAQ
What people ask most about The Forger.
It doesn't meet all my minimums, what now?
Try the Master forge, lower the hardest minimum a little, remove locked caps or unban items. Sometimes the order is impossible with the gear that exists: the checklist shows which minimum is missing and by how much.
Why does each forge give something different?
It is an evolutionary search with randomness: very open orders have many almost equally good pieces. Pin what you liked and reforge to refine around it.
Does pinning many items slow it down?
No, the opposite: every pinned item is one fewer slot to search.
Does it account for Dofus and legendary passives?
Yes, if you tick "Count item passives" in the order: at their best (full stacks, first case or turn 1) or as you set them in the planner. They come in sections (Dofus, Prysmaradites, legendary items): switch a whole section off or, with ⚙, only the passives that make no sense for how you play, such as AP per enemy finished off. Results mark it with ⚔, and loading the build sets the same passives for the "In combat" view. Final damage and vulnerability aren't order stats, so they don't change the choice.
Is my order saved?
Yes, in this browser: stats, intensity, forgemagic, slots, pinned and banned items are still there next time you open The Forger.
